After our evening discussing the pros and cons of self-publishing in March, we will visit a local printer.
New Print at Kingston produce books from large format, full colour, coffee table specials to simple pamphlet style, pocket books. The staff are always very generous with their time and knowledge. We will be able to ask questions about formats, fonts and find out what a print ready manuscript should look like. Self-publishing authors are looking to us editors for more advice on how to take the next step. After this visit we should also be able to advise our authors how the size, shape and style, different quality stock, binding, colour prints and many other details can affect the price of producing their book.
